Correctly named medal 25160 Far:Sjt JW Nuttall RFA

John Willie Nuttall is found living with his wife and Ella May and daughter, Iris May in Ballincollig, west of Cork in 1912. Ballincollig at the time held barracks for the 24th Brigade and there were mentions for it to become a Cavalry HQ.

John however served with the 119 Battery of the 27th Brigade.

He is entitled to clasp and roses. he entered France 19/8/1914. He was transferred to Braine 29/9/1914, this we are sure, was a Royal Field Artillery main station in France, so a few horses to take care of!

Notes show in 1914 of service of 12 years to date. We find another Farrier Staff Sergeant JW Nuttall, numbered 1022485. This report is in 1921 so fairly confident to say its the same man after re-numbering.

Medal comes with a length of modern ribbon.
