A 1915 Star on original ribbon named to 9670 Pte C Hoadley LNLR

Charles entered 4A Africa on 9th December 1914 he served with the 2nd Battalion and was made Section B Reserve on 20th March 1919

 

According to the 1911 Census Charles Robert Hoadley was born 1889 in Middlesex. He was at time of Census with the 2nd Battalion in Ceylon/India. Good chance given the unusual surname this is same man

 

The 2nd Battalion Loyal North Lancs were in Bangalore India in August 1914

3rd November they landed Tanga German East Africa

In May 1916 they were moved to South Africa to recuperate with many gravely ill soldiers

In Jan 1917 they moved to Egypt then in 1918 to France
