1911 Friezeland cottage , Upper Halling, Rochester, Kent.

Enlisted December 1914 aged 19 years 11 months a farm labourer by occupation.

He was wounded by a shell wound to thigh at hill 60 according to the printed out newspaper article that comes with the medal .

After hospital treatment in England for several weeks he was drafted into Indian expeditionary force to the Persian Gulf, he was wounded and dangerously ill with a gunshot wound to jaw and died at the front of wounds 31st March 1916 being commemorated on the basra memorial in Iraq.
