William was born 7th July 1895 .

1911 a junior draughtsman in patent office living at 79 leathwaite Rd Clapham Common.  His father was A joiner .

When he joined he was a brass finisher by occupation.

Initial service in army pay corp then transfered to re .

His address 33 church Rd  , Willesden, London.

Served as chemist in 3rd pro coy royal engineers.

& 186 company discharged as no longer fit for further service overseas.

His address then was living with his father at holyrood Palace,  Edinburgh ( his father a joiner must have worked there )

Post war he served 90 days in 4th Royal Scots ( defence force )
