Availability: 1 in stock

Correctly named BWM to 150529 Spr WG Cant RE

William George Cant was born in July 1897, Cheshunt, to Helen & Charles. He was a fitters mate before enlisting in Longmoor. He served in France from April 1916 for 2 years and 10 months. He was discharged for nerve trouble and various other ailments which today could well be put down as PTSD.

He did serve with the number W/R 254235 in the Royal Engineers Railway Operating Troops too. In the 39 Register, we find him married to Ethel living in Cuber Cottages Cheshunt and working as a nurseryman/general hand like his father before him.

His papers are online and make for interesting reading.

Supplied with a length of modern ribbon.
