Born Bow London 31st may 1898 he joined royal navy 14th Sept 1915 as a boy sailor in Pembroke 1, he joined HMS Titania 16th November 1915 a submarine supply ship until 2nd  April 1917 he became an officers servant then cook more research needed an nice rank would not have been many officers cooks on a ship
