John James was born to John and Christina in 1901 in Camberwell, Surrey.
We find him living with his father in 1911 at 8 Coburg Road, Old Kent Road, Camberwell.
He attested to the Royal Artillery in December 1919 in Bedford aged 18. He was given at first the service number 276459.
He is not entitled to WWI medals.
He would have been entitled to his LSGC from 1937. No records are found to see if he is entitled at all to WII medals.
John died in 1971
The medal has an original silk ribbon.
