Correctly named 5684 Pte G Worth Devon Regt

George was born around 1869-1870 in the St Mary’s Steps parish in Exeter, South Devon.

He attested to the 3rd Battalion Devon Regiment (Militia) in May 1893. Records show his mother Lydia to be his next of kin.

He was sent overseas to South Africa in December 1899 and remained there until August 1902.

He is entitled to a Queens South Africa medal with the clasps Transvaal, Tugela Heights and Relief of Ladysmith.

Medal has a length of modern replacement ribbon.
