Born c1872 at claremorris in Co mayo ,Ireland.

A labourer by occupation he enlisted 3rd June 1890 .

He was captured and taken prisoner of war at the Battle of nooitgedacht in December 1900.

He was also noted as serving 14 days imprisonment & 15 days imprisonment for drunkeness .
