A nicely period mounted memorial plaque to James Sydney Cable
James was born in 1884 the son of James McCurrey cable and Anna Jane Cable of 19 Trinity Rise, Brixton London. He joined the 28th London Regiment (the Artists Rifles) and entered France 27th December 1916
He was commissioned as Lieutenant in the 46th Siege Battery Royal Garrison Artillery
And died of injuries on 5th September 1918
Also inc are his brothers WW1 paiR. Robert William Cable served in the 1st 67th Punjabis as a Lieut in WW1. The medals were issued in India they are named to Capt RW Cable
There is another piece of paperwork relating to a 8044 Vol R Cable Bombay Volunteer Rifles in April 1922
Also a tatty box from Bombay containing his visiting cards
