This 1916 Pennsylvania National Guard Mexican Border Service Medal and Ribbon is in the original box. On the edge of the medal is a serial number 14,516 which matches the number on the box. My guess is that the printing “Jos. K. Davison’s Sons, Inc. 210 S. 13th Street Philadelphia U.S.A.” is the manufacturer of the medal. The medal is bronze with a picture of William Penn on the front along with the words “Pennsylvania National Guard 1916 William Penn” and “Dawson Phila.” under William Penn. On the back is a picture of a lady holding a sword and shield with stars and stripes on the shield, an eagle below her, a snake to the right, and a monument reading “U.S.” and “1916.” It reads “Mexican Border Service” The ribbon is a deep blue color with red, white, and green stripes down the middle. It has the original protective paper and is in great shape.

The medal and box are numbered 13194.
