Correctly numbered B193187, awarded to 265653 Pte John ~Edward Bayley of the 1/6th Bn Gloucester Regiment.

A wound report dated 14/9/1918 is noted and the Battalion were with the 1/4th Bn Gloucesters at the time, serving in Italy.

John entered France 31/3/1915 and is entitled to a 1915 Star Trio. He also had the service number 2909TF.

We find a JE Bayley, in 1939, married to Christina and working as a commercial food traveller. He was also serving in the Special Constabulary. Address given as Cleeve View, Harphill, Cheltenham.

Being born in 1895, John died in 1985.
