Thomas was born on 16th August 1892 at St George’s, Stonehouse Devon

A plumber by occupation he joined the RMLI Plymouth Division 22nd September 1910 aged 18 years old

He served at various stations and ships including HMS Benbow before joining the BEF in France as part of the Royal Marine Brigade on 19th September 1917

He was wounded by a bullet on 7th April 1918 and was discharged invalided on the 8th August 1918 due to the wound he received in France

His father’s address given as 39 Gemyll St Stonehouse Devon
