Sidney was born in 1873 in Kirkdale Liverpool Lancashire. He was a grocer, he joined the Royal Artillery 11/2/1892 serving in Singapore, Gibraltar, India & Aden.
In 1907 he suffered scarlet fever in Rangoon and in 1908, dysentery
He was serving in WW1 with the 57 Coy and was discharged aged 44 years on 20 February 1917. An interesting man who saw a lot of service he was also entitled to a LSGC Medal
