Interesting pair consisting of Special Constabulary Medal named to Cyril Rees (EK above ril)

Defence Medal unnamed as issued .

According to the research it came with Cyril born c1878 at Lewisham, a bank Clerk by occupation.

He joined the Imperial Yeomanry 92nd Coy of 23rd Battalion,  3rd County of London Sharpshooters, Imperial Yeomanry, serving in South Africa.

After discharge he moved c1903 to Bournemouth working in electricity.

During WW1 he served in Dorset Volunteers in Bournemouth.

In 1928 he became a Special Constable at Poole during the general strike .

During WW2 he was Deputy Head Air-raid Warden at Bournemouth.

Comes with printout of his obituary with photo .

A very interesting story worthy of more research.
