He enlisted 4th September 1914 .

Served in France in no 7 platoon ,c Coy, 18th Manchester Regiment ( 3rd city battalion ) 90th infantry brigade.

Mentioned in general Haigs dispatches 13th June 1916 for gallant and distinguished Conduct in the field .

Also noted as wounded 30th August 1916 and discharged 5th August 1918 due to gunshot wound right side with 40% disablement address given as6 Padstow St, Miles platting ,Manchester .

1921 living at 22 penzane St, miles platting a cotton salesman by occupation.

1939 a dept manager mcitton goods. living at 4 the drive, Hale Rd, hale ,Cheshire.
