A victory medal on replacement ribbon named to Lieut J Cragg

2nd Lieut J Cragg served with the Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He lived at 22 Chambers St, Workington Cumbria

Comes with some copy paper work stating he went in front of a medical board at Carlisle on 22nd Jan 1917  to examine the present state of his wounds suffered whist with the 8th KOSB 46th Brigade 15th Division  at the Hohenzollern Redoubt on 15th may 1916 finding his wounds severe and permanent

He was stuck by fragments of a rifle grenade which inflicted numerous small wounds in right forearm and shoulder and fragments of metal still present and inflamed

He was wounded whist attacking a German trench

London Gazette 22nd August 1917 shows he relinquished his commission ill health due to wounds 23rd August 1917
