Victory on replacement ribbon named to 140621 Dvr R Wilkinson RA

Richard was born c 1889

He lived at 55 Carlton St Newcastle on tyne and was by occupation a labourer married to Emma

He served in the 527th Howitzer Battery RA

Serving 1916 to 17 Mesopotamia

1917 Egypt

1918 France

He spent several periods admitted to hospital with sandfly fever diarrhoea boils etc

He went AWOL twice serving 27 days cc

Sadly his son Thomas Edward Wilkinson died aged just 19 months on March 1918
