Correctly named 18362 Pte T Hopkins Welsh R

Thomas hailed from Bridgend South Wales and served first with the 8th Service Battalion and it was with these that he embarked at Avonmouth on 15 June 1915 and landed at ANZAC Cove on 5 August 1915. December 1915 : evacuated from Gallipoli and went to Egypt via Mudros. February 1916 : moved to Mesopotamia.

The 24th Battalion was formed in 1917. He was also attached to 231 Field Ambulance, formed from the Field Ambulances of the Welsh Border and South-Western Mounted Brigades. A part of 74th (Yeomanry)Division.

He was reported wounded 27/9/1918.

He is of course entitled to the 1915 Star Trio. The medal comes on a length of faded original faded ribbon.
