Correctly named  23559 Pte G Stirton Cam’n Highrs

George Cook Stirton was born in 1875 in Duniplace, Stirlingshire. He served with the 3rd Battalion Cameron Highlanders and the pair is his full entitlement.

He also served as 4436 in the 8th Company Labour Corps.

He was killed in action aged 42 on the 12/10/1917.

His address at the time was 3 West Arthur Place, Edinburgh.

He is buried at Birr Crossroads Cemetery Belgium.

Medals are on  modern ribbon.
