WW1 Trio 104696 Spr EE Mitchell RE

Ernest Edwin Mitchell was born in 1882 in Camberwell. He was a carpenter by trade and was living at 9 Beechcroft St, Brockley, Sth London and was mrried to Janet.

He attested in June 1915 and went overseas to France in August 1915. He served until April 1919 when he transferred to Class Z.His MSM is in the London Gazette dated 3/6/1919.

Ernest had enlisted into the Dragoons in February 1900. He was working as a cutler at the time and living at 18 Hounslow Road, East Dulwich.

He only served 282 with the colours before being discharged with no medal entitlement. The reason for his discharge was that on his 2nd day with the Dragoons, he was kicked by a horse and broke both his tibia and fibia in a terrible accident.

All medals have original long silk ribbons.
