WW1 pair swing mounted as worn on original ribbons named to 202239 Pte WR Jane D of Corn LI and QEII Imperial Service Medal in box named to William Richard Jane
William Richards Jane was born 21st December 1881 at St Austell Cornwall, it seems he was born in the workhouse at St Austell. His mother was Milicent Varcoe and father William Jane a labourer at a foundry
He joined the Navy on 21st December 1899 giving his occupation as a traveller. He served in HMS Northampton/Curacao and Vivid 1 before being invalided out 6th of July 1900
In WW1 he joined the 7th DCLI under service number 202239 the 7th served in France the research that came with the group inc a photocopy of a picture of him
At present we have been unable to trace the ism announcement in the London Gazette could be his or perhaps sons ?
