Correctly named A/Sjt J Grant SASC

James was born c 1881 and hailed from Rothes in Moray, the Highlands of Scotland. He had emigrated to Natal in South Africa and lived there with his wife Edith and 3 children. His occupation is noted as Checker.

He enlisted in February 1917 in Roberts Heights, a garrison town near Pretoria and was discharged April 1919.

The pair is on modern ribbon and will come with 3 pages from the South African Expeditionary Forces.
