Correctly named 020098 Pte AE Herapth AOC

Albert Ernest Herapath was born the son of a boot repairer c 1895. In 1911, we find him living at 33 Millbrook Road, Shirley with his parents and working himself as a worker/shoe repairer.

He enlisted in July 1916 and the following August he was sent overseas to France where he was stationed at Le Havre on important duties in the workshop of the Railways Operative Department. He was de-mobbed in October 1919 when he then returned home to 16 Harold St, Freemantle, Southampton. The pair is his full entitlement.

He had married Maud Whalley in 1913 and is seen in 1939, living with her and again working as a shoe repairer in Harold St.

Albert died in 1963.
