Special Constabulary Faithful Service Medal named James W Pilling.

James was a decorator by occupation. He lived at 5 Beard Street, Gorton, Manchester.

He joined up  in 1916 serving briefly in the 3rd Battalion Manchester Regiment before joining C Company 29th Battalion Machine Gun Corps.

He was wounded gunshot wound right thigh on 23rd March 1918 during the German spring offensive.

Discharged Class Z 7th February 1919 with 20% disablement.

He later served in the Manchester Special Constabulary.
