Correctly named 1111 Spr A Chapman.

Albert was the son of Henry and Mildred Chapman, born in 1893. Henry was a plumber and we see that Albert started to follow in his fathers footsteps by also becoming a plumber. We find Albert living in 1911 at 21 Park Road, Bedford. Other addresses we find for him are 18 Queens Street and 98 Howbury Street, both in Bedford.

He served in France from 24/12/1914 until 19/10/1916. He suffered an accidental sprained ankle in the October of 1916 so it is probably this injury that sent him home. He worked as a plumber during his service.

He served with the 483rd Field Co (1st East Anglian Field Company), a part of 2nd Division

We find him in 1939 living at Princes Street, Bedford with his wife Florence and working as a foreman plumber.

All in original (crushed) transmittal box with 2 medal envelopes and original silk ribbons.
