Correctly named trio to 13877 Pte SW Austen R Berks R

Born 1885 in London, Sidney William Austen served with the 6th & 12th Battalions.  An address is given for his sister as 48 Woolstone Road, Forest Hill, London.He went to France 7/8/1915 earning his 15 Star Trio. He was captured on the 30/11/1917. Notes tell us he was attached to a trench mortar battery. It is also recorded that he was captured injured and was sent to Saltau POW camp.

This lot also comes with his Silver War Badge, correctly numbered B300516 and the roll confirmed badge earned through wounding. There is also a Royal Berkshires cap badge plus a photo of soldiers attending a funeral, this has a note POW Soltau Germany written on the back.

All medal are on original long silk ribbons.
