Correctly named 30766 Pte F Edwards Essex R

Frederick was born in Brandon in 1880. He served with the 1st Battalion, 7th Company and was with these when he was captured on 14/4/1917 at Arras/Monchy.

Diaries show the 1st at the line at Monchy Le Preux at that time and on the 14 were attacking the German line at 530am when 17 officers and 644 other ranks were killed.

We find an address for him, 96 Mill Hill, Thetford nr Brandon.

He is entitled to a pair.
