An interesting local pickup as they came in to us on tatty original ribbons.

1915 star  named 2416 pte g r Andrew r fus .

Bwm named 2416 pte g r Andrew r fus .

Victory  erased no details visible.

Defence and war medals unnamed as issued.

Suffolk Regiment silver sweetheart brooch and Union Jack stickpin.

George reginald thorne andrew away born in Barnstaple North Devon 6th July 1894, his father was a merchant .

1901 living at 175 lichdon St,  Barnstaple.

He entered France 14th November 1915 .

Served also in Suffolk Regiment as 37940 being commissioned 17th April 1917 and serving as 2nd lieut in Norfolk Regiment.

His address on mic 19 Ashleigh Rd,  Barnstaple.

Post war it seems he worked as an agent for an agricultural Merchant and warden of a hostel as shown on 1939 register living at highstanding , Northam,  North Devon.

His ww2 service is unresearched but it seems he was a jp so possibly homeguard ? As these ww2 medals came in same box to us they are inc.

There seems to be other records relating to the family online so worthy of futhur research.
