Geoffrey Walter lawson was born c1884 in London.

He initially served in 2nd Northumberland Fusiliers ( Militia) & Scottish rga.

1911 a lieutenant in the 2nd Battalion Somerset light infantry stationed at St Andrews barracks .

Entered France 13th January 1917 .

8th June 1918 a staff captain ( temp major ) Department of director General of movements and railways .

Address on mic 2nd battalion som li , agra , India.

Ended up as lieutenant colonel in charge of the Taunton depot of Somerset li.

1939 secretary of Royal Cambridge home for soldiers welfare living at Byways , Easthampstead, Berkshire.

Also noted as Head Arp warden for Byfield in Berkshire.

He died at Swindon on 2nd January 1982 and is buried at holy Cross churchyard , Ramsbury, Wiltshire , He was 97 years old .
