A single WW2 War medal, unnamed as issued.

Army Council condolence slip named to 182837 Dvr Spencer W RASC. As can be seen, there is a correction to the service number (this correction looks period). Also, the transmittal box addressed to his mother at 15 Robert Street, Oswaldtwistle.

William Spencer was born in 1919 in the village of Church in Lancashire. He was the son of Samuel and Maud Annie Spencer.He worked as a grocery store assistant.

William died as a result of an accident on the 17th July 1940 aged 20.

CWGC confirms the naming of his parents and records show his father died in 1935 hence the medal being sent to his mother. Address is confirmed in records as 15 Robert Street.

He is buried at Oswaldtwistle Immanuel Churchyard and remembered at the village War Memorial at the corner of Union Road/Rhyddings Street, Oswaldtwistle, Accrington
