An interesting Group of 4 medals and ephemera.
John Henry Reay was born 1919.
He enlisted 15th July 1939 into the Royal Warwickshire Regiment serving with them I France with the bef .
Transferred to Royal Norfolk Regiment June 1940 he went to India in April 1942 .
He was wounded 13th June 1944 whist serving with the 2nd Battalion Norfolk Regiment at which time they were taking part in the Battle of kohima .
He was discharged from the reserve 28th November 1951.
1939 star ,Burma Star defence and war medals unnamed as issued. and a loyal service badge .
Transmittal slip confirming 4 awards and Transmittal box named Mr r w c Reay, 110 High St, quarry Park, brieley Hill, West Midlands, dy5 2ag.
An envelope named Mrs j h Reay 129 brookhill Road ,alum Rock, Birmingham.
His red service book confirming his service with bef and in India and burma serving under very adverse conditions, efficiently and cheerfully .
His soldiers release book confirming the Sam testament to his service.
A letter dated 1985 confirming the award and issuing of the late johns medals to his widow .
A sad thought he never got to se or wear his medals in person .
