Charles mooney was born in Portlemore, Antrim, Northern Ireland around 1873.
We know he married Mary Jane Skelly in 1891 in Belfast.
He was a wheelwright by trade when he enlisted into the Royal Engineers in September 1915 and living at 73 Upper Meadow St, Belfast.
He headed to France with the 2nd Depot Company Royal Engineers in March 1916 where he transferred to the 73rd Field Company RE.
He was killed in action on the 14th of October 1917 at Ypres in Belgium.
He is remembered upon the Tyne Cot Memorial in Belgium.
