Correctly named 3104 Pte E Williams RW Fus

Edward was born in 1872 to Samuel and Elizabeth.

Working as a quarryman in 1911 and living in Dyserth, he enlisted into the 2/5thBn Royal Welsh Fusiliers in March 1915.

He served in France from August 1916 entitling him to a WWI Pair of medals.

He served 129 days at the front before returning to the UK due to sickness. Note confirm he suffered Myalgia as a result of active service in France as a Traffic Control Policeman.

He was awarded the Silver War Badge numbered 313326 (not present) and was transferred to the 1st Copany Labour Corps with the service number 203383. He was to later serve with 362 Company.

Notes on his papers have his address as 1 Hiradding Terrace, Dyserth, Flintshire which matches the Census.

The medal has an original silk ribbon.
