Palestine 1945-48 General Service Medal correctly named Capt JS Sharman REME

John Stanley Sharman received his wartime emergency commission in late 1941. His service number was P/221122. His London Gazette entry was dated 20/1/1942.

He rose up through the junior officer ranks and was a captain by 1943. He served with the 1st Army in North Africa and having landed in Italy was wounded in the head on the 16th February 1944.

Post war he served with the REME and was present in Palestine during the Jewish Insurgency.

He is again in the Gazette when he is promoted to Major 30/1/1948 and then to Lt Col in 1952 and was Deputy Assistant Adjudant General of the Corps of REME.

All medals are swing mounted on a clasp for wear with original silk ribbons.
