Unnamed group of 5 WWII medals with Territorial Efficiency Medal with second award clasp which is correctly named

828540 Pte AR Bayes CMP

WWII medals: 1939/45 Star, Africa Star with 1st Army clasp, Italy Star, Defence and War Medal.

Born approx 1920, Anthony Robert Bayes first enlisted into the Royal Artillery in 1932.

He transferred to the Provost Corps CMP in June 1939 and was discharged in November 1945.

He re-enlisted in May 1947 and later discharged in May 1955.

His award of the TEM was given in June 1945 with the clasp (second award) given in August 1949 when by then he had transferred to the RASC.

Upon research we do find an Anthony Robert Bayes born in 1917 to Alfred and Theodora although this would need further research for confirmation, the address given in 1921 was Gainsborough Crescent, Chelmsford.

From his WWII card, we know his address is stated as 7 Shelley Road, Chelmsford, Essex.

All medals have their original silk ribbons which do have polish residue on them.

A nice grouping for service with the Military Police during WWII, especially with the confirmed second award clasp on the TEM.
