Hector Macdonald Law was born to John and Mary at 18 Agincourt Street in Newport on the 8th of July 1901.

In 1911, we find the family living at 6 Lime Street in Newport.

He served as a merchant seaman during WW aboard SS Antar.

We see him in 1921 now living at 42 Lewis Street, where he is noted as being an invalid. Possible war wounds?

He married Rosina Yendle in 1923.

He enlisted into the Royal Engineers in 1930 and held the service number 1982181. He is recorded as being a carpenter/joiner.

He was released from service November 1940.

Hector died in 1972.

The BWM and MWWM are swing mounted on a clasp as worn with original silk ribbons.

His WWII War Medal, issued in 1970 has its original ribbon.
