WWII Royal Artillery grouping with KGVI TEM. Lieutenant TV Smillie. Waterloo, Lancashire.

Category:

All WWII medals unnamed as issued.

KGVI TEM correctly named LT TV Smillie RA

Thomas Victor Smillie was born in West Derby in 1911 to Thomas Dickie Anderson Smillie and Margaret Arbuck Easton Smillie.

We find the family in 1921 living at 43 Rayton Road, Waterloo, Lancashire.

Notably, his father was working as a bed steward for the White Star Line after serving in the Merchant Marine during WWI.

He enlisted into the Royal Artillery in 1938.

He was granted a Regular Army Emergency Commission in April 1941 and promoted then to Lieutenant in October 1942.

His WWII medal card has at some point been available but alas not any more.

Thomas died in 1974.

All medals have original silk ribbon.
