Joseph Samuel Alcock was born st ambrose,  widnes Lancashire.

He was a member of the territorial force in the 2nd West lancs  field coy re .

He entered 4a ( British East Africa) 12th July 1915 .

After contracting malaria he was in Malta In hospital and later served in France due to being excluded from further service in theatres where malaria was prevalent.

He served with 420 field coy and 20th tf depot royal engineers.

Discharged z reserve 8th April 1919 .

Living at 90 skinner Street  , Gillingham in Kent.
