Thomas enlisted in 1928. After serving in Railway Workshops in the UK, he was posted with 163 Railway Workshop Company to North Africa in November 1942. He was later in June 1943, posted to join forces that were to invade Sicily as a part of Operation Husky in July 1943. He is marked pending release from service in August 1945.
More research to confirm medal entitlement but allowing for length of service it may well be, 39/45 Star, Africa Star with clasp, Italy Star, Defence and War medals.
Medal has an original ribbon.
