His original certificate of service stating victor Henry hoy was a dispatch clerk by occupation born 20th June 1924 at forest Gate in London.

He served as a telegraphist fro November 1942 .

Present on board lcg ( landing craft gun ) 1062 off the Normandy bridgehead on 31st July 1944 when she was sunk with a mine near the hospital anchor point at 6.30am he bring wounded and evacuated to hospital I Southampton and severe enough for his being issued with a hurt certificate in December 1944 and discharged as physically unfit in October 1945 he died at leigh on sea Essex in 2022 .
