Joseph kerr ruickbie was born at newbridge ,Edinburgh 18th February 1915.
An apprentice painter by occupation he joined the Scots Guards 14th October 1933.
He served in Palestine 20th September 1936 until 30th December 1936.
Joined the army reserve July 1937.
Rejoined scots Guards December 1939 .
He served in Iraq and middle East then Italy during the war being attached to corp of military police during some of this time.
Post War he went on to be a mounted policeman in Southend, Essex.
Comes with lots of photos ,his service books ,badges etc a really nice complete archive of one mans life of service in army and police force.
