Joseph Owen Gallagher was born at St helens, Lancashire 24th November 1885 a fitter and Turner by occupation.

Joined the Royal Navy 14th January 1915 for hostilities only .

Served as engine room artificer on various ships noted as hecla the depot ship ( hms shark & hms sparrow hawk ) November 1915 to June 1916 both were sunk at battle of jutland shark 1st then sparrowhawk.

Ww2 living in New Jersey USA working for proctor and gamble.
