George was born in west ham , London 28th February 1891 .

He joined up 17th March 1908 a scholar ( school ) prior to entry .

He served on various ships  and joined Hms Cardiff 27th July 1917 and would have been on board during her participation in the 2nd Battle of Heligoland Bight in late 1917 and baltic and black sea campaigns in the Russian Civil War.

He served on board until late April 1920 .

He was discharged on shore March 2021 and joined the royal Fleet Reserve.
