Walter was born 2nd August 1913 at Neath in south Wales.
1939 a cleaner for lptb living at 147 balling Rd, Hammersmith.
He enlisted 8th July 1940 I to the royal Air force.
Served overseas from 1st June 1941 .
He was captured at java 1st September 1942 and one of the pow camps he was kept in was haroekoe.
He was liberated 2nd September 1945.
He died in late September 1984 at Rutland .
