William Martin Hoy was born in 1894 and was living at 33 Caldrum Street in Dundee, Mains, Angus when he enlisted. He was living there with his mother Jessie and records show him to be working as a blacksmith.

He went overseas to France on 30/4/1915 and we see him to be discharged on 22/1/1917 due to tubercle of the lung.

William died in 1921.
