Correctly named K39155 A Brackenbury Sto1 RN

Born in Wainfleet, Lincs in 1894, we find Albert in 1911 living in Hungerton, Leicester and working as a builders labourer.

He served from mid 1917. After his training, he spent his entire war aboard HMS Amphritite.

HMS Amphritite had served as a part of the 9th Cruiser Squadron but was retired but reactivated in 1917 and was used as a minelayer and assigned to Nore Command.

Amphritie collided with HMS Nessus in September 1918 causing Nessus to sink.

Post war, 1921, we find Albert living aboard a houseboat and working for CJ Dickinson Millers.

He married Catherine Brumby in 1925.

In 1939, he is living at 101 Linton Street in Lincoln and working as a screenman in a flour mill.

He is also noted as being a member of the ARP.

Albert died in 1974.
