Correctly named 27960 Pte JA Hopkins Som LI
John Alfred was born in St Helier, Jersey in 1880. A brick maker by trade.
We find him in 1901 living at 1 Brooklyn Place with his parents John And Anna and the rest of his family.
He married Mabel Violet Ball in 1906.
In 1911, we find him now living as a boarder at 33 Town Miles, Jersey.
He enlisted into the 8th Bn in 1917 and also served with the Dorset Regiment and later the Labour Corps with the service number 691459. His address at this time is 9 Clare Cottage, Clare St, Jersey.
We find a WWII identity card for him.
John died in 1955.
Medal has a long length of original silk ribbon.
