Correctly named 45442 Pte IG Buckingham The Queens

Isaac George Buckingham was in November 1885 to Edwin and Emma. He had a brother, Owen, who died with the 1st Queens Own Oxford Hussars (285610) in September 1918.

Isaac we see in 1911 was an attendant in an asylum. He married his wife Elizabeth Theobald in 1913.

Isaac served with the 2nd Battalion Royal West Surreys then as 73306 with 137 Labour Corps. He later served in the Military Foot Police with the service number P17064.

He served in France from March 1917 until the Armistice in November 1918.

We see in 1939 that he is living with his family at 87 Brinkley Road, Sutton & Cheam. He is working as a builders labourer and is serving as a Special Constable. No research into the Special Constable role has been undertaken.

Isaac died in 1956.

The medals are swing mounted on a clasp with original silk ribbon as worn, we presume,  by Isaac.
