Correctly named 46351 Pte AJV Smith KRRC

Arthur John Victor Smith was born c1891. He enlisted into the Royal Flying Corps on the 11th January 1916. His army papers survive and they state he was compulsory transferred to the Kings Royal Rifle Corps, 6th (Reserve) Bn, in March 1918. He went overseas with the BEF on the 9th of July with the 6th Bn but was posted with the 1/13th Bn London Regiment C Company, just 5 days later. He was to stay with them for 3 months then he returned to the 6th Bn. He was shot in the abdomen in September, just before returning to th 6th Bn.

Medal Rolls show him also to have served with the 20th KRRC, British Empire League Pioneers and later as M/417390 in the Army Service Corps. He spent 63 days overseas.

An address given for him is Rose Cottage, Mosslea Road, Bromley, Kent. He was a chauffeur prior to enlistment.

Medal have stunning, very long original silk ribbons.
